screen, the vents, the air outlets under
the front seats and the air extractor
located behind the fl aps in the boot.
In certain cases of particularly arduous
use (towing the maximum load on a
steep gradient in hot weather), cutting
off the air conditioning permits recov-
ery of the engine power and therefore
improvement of the towing capacity.
Close the windows to benefi t from the
full effectiveness of the air conditioning.
Ensure that the passenger compart-
ment fi lter is in good condition. Have
the fi lter elements replaced periodically.
If you drive in a dusty environment,
replace it twice as often.
The air conditioning system does not
contain chlorine and is not harmful to
the ozone layer.
Operate the air conditioning system
for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a
month, to keep it in perfect working
order.
The water formed by the air conditioning
condensation is discharged via an open-
ing provided for this purpose. Therefore,
a puddle of water may form underneath
the vehicle when stationary.
If the system does not produce cold air,
do not use it and contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.

Air diffuser
The air diffuser grille, located at the
top of the centre console, signifi cantly
improves distribution and fl ows and
prevents air currents, while maintain-
ing an optimum temperature inside the
passenger compartment.
Advice on operation
To obtain even ventilation,
avoid closing the air diffuser
grille 9 .
In hot weather, in order to obtain in-
tense ventilation, you can close the air
diffuser grille 10 and use vents 1 and
5 only.
If, when the vehicle has been parked
in the sun for a long time, the interior
temperature remains very high, do not
hesitate to ventilate the passenger
compartment for a few minutes.
For even air distribution, take care
not to obstruct the exterior air intake
grille located at the bottom of the wind-
Use of the automatic regulation of the
air conditioning is recommended. It
permits automatic and optimised con-
trol of all of the following functions: air
fl ow, passenger compartment temper-
ature and air distribution, by means
of various sensors, so preventing the
need for you to change your refer-
ence settings other than the value dis-
played.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor
8 .
It is required for regulation of the air
conditioning.

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING (DUAL ZONE)

Dual zone: this is the differentiated
regulation of the temperature and air
distribution on the driver's side and the
front passenger side.
The driver and his front passenger can
each adjust the temperature and the
distribution of the air to suit their require-
ments.
The symbols and messages associat-
ed with the automatic air conditioning
controls appear on the multifunction
display.

tor light comes on. The "AUTO" sym-
bol is displayed on the multifunction
display.
Adjustment of the temperature
on the driver's side (2)
Adjustment of the temperature
on the passenger side (3)

 Press the up or down arrow to
change the temperature on the
driver's side 2 or passenger side 3 .
The value indicated on the display cor-
responds to a level of comfort and not
to a temperature in degrees Celsius or
Fahrenheit, depending on the choice of
confi guration validated on the display.
A setting around the value 21 makes
it possible to obtain optimum comfort.
However, depending on your require-
ments, a setting between 18 and 24
is usual.
Depending on the level of comfort se-
lected, the system controls the air dis-
tribution, fl ow, temperature and intake
of air in order to guarantee comfort
and an adequate circulation of air in
the passenger compartment. You do
not have to make any adjustments.
When the engine is cold, to
prevent too great a distribution
of cold air, the ventilation will
only reach its optimum level
progressively.

and the indicator lights.
It deactivates all of the system's func-
tions, with the exception of the rear

The temperature-related comfort is no
longer controlled (temperature, humidity,

Avoid driving for too long with the air
conditioning off.
Switching off the ventilation
The
"AUTO" button indicator light is

The air fl ow symbol (fan) is displayed
on the multifunction display and is fi lled
in in relation to the value required.
To prevent condensation and dete-
rioration of the quality of the air in the
passenger compartment, ensure that
an adequate fl ow of air is maintained. Adjustment of
the driver's air
distribution (5)
Successive or continuous pressure on
button 5 or 6 enables you to direct the
fl ow of air on the driver's side or on the
passenger side independently.
The "AUTO" button indicator light is
switched off.

the chosen direction 5 or 6 is displayed
on the multifunction display.

in discomfort (temperature, humidity,
odour, condensation) and is not ad-
vantageous (comfort).
To return to automatic mode, press the

"AUTO" button.
On entering the vehicle, the
interior temperature may be
much colder (or warmer) than
is comfortable. There is no
need to change the temperature dis-
played in order to obtain rapidly the
level of comfort required.
The automatic regulation of the air
conditioning will use its maximum
performance settings to correct the
temperature difference as quickly as
possible.

ness sensor can detect suffi -
cient light. As a consequence,
the lights will not come on au-
tomatically.
This function is active when the vehi-
cle is supplied to the customer.
If the brightness sensor does not
